Mission Statement |
To support Uniform and Detective operations in search of outstanding felony suspects, misdemeanor suspects armed with firearms, lost and missing persons, and recovery of
illegal narcotics and evidence.

| Organization |
The Mishawaka Police K-9 Unit consists of two dual purpose (patrol/narcotic) trained German Shepherds assigned to the Uniform Division. A single purpose (narcotics) trained black Labrador Retriever assigned to the NET supervised by Capt. Dan Gebo. The K-9 unit is supervised by Sgt. Randy Holland.

Meet the K-9 Teams
 |
Sgt. Randy Holland has been with the Mishawaka Police Department since February 1990. Currently he is the Mishawaka Police K-9 unit’s supervisor. Sgt. Holland is currently working mid-nights, along with his K-9 partner, Bowie. Sgt. Holland and his K-9 partner are trained in patrol tactics and narcotics work. |

Cpl. Jim Szuba has been a Mishawaka Police Officer since February 2002. Currently he is assigned to the afternoon uniform division, along with his K-9 partner Ricky. Cpl. Szuba is trained in patrol tactics and narcotics searches. Cpl. Szuba is also an ILEA firearms instructor and the armor for the Mishawaka Police Department. |

Cpl. Chad Thomas has been a Mishawaka Police Officer since January 1999. Currently he is assigned to the Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET), along with his K-9 partner Zeek. Cpl. Thomas and Zeek are trained in narcotic searches. Cpl. Thomas is also a member of the SWAT Team and is a certified Less-Lethal instructor. |
