The Battell Community Center is located at 904 N. Main St, Mishawaka. The Community Center is a thriving spot for people of ALL AGES and INTERESTS to join in affordable classes, recreation and club activities, and to enjoy the entertainment of theater, music, and much more.
Classes and programs that are offered at the BCC include Zumba, line dancing, Middle Eastern dance, yoga, and various health and fitness classes. Music and art classes for all levels are offered such as watercolor, pastels, organ, and quilt making.
Special events including the Annual Ice Cream Social, BINGO, and the Daddy Daughter dance occur year round. All are welcome to join in the excitement of reuniting with old friends and making new ones!
Battell Community Center Auditorium offers seating for 374 people and is open for the public to rent for weddings and performances. A state of the art sound and lighting system was recently installed to add ease and accessibility for renter’s use and enhance audience’s experience. Throughout the year the Battell Center is host to theatrical, seasonal, and musical performances open to the public.
The BCC is rich in local history beginning as Battell Elementary School in 1900. The west addition facing Main Street was added in 1920. In 1982 the City of Mishawaka purchased the facility for $1.00 generating further renovations. Several renovations later the Community Center is still open to accommodate all ages!
