Meeting Location:Council Chambers Council MembershipThe Common Council is composed of nine members, elected by the voters of the city to represent them for a four-year term. Six of the members are elected from and represent individual districts; three of the members are elected by and serve the city at-large. (click on a picture below to send e-mail)

Common Council StaffCouncil Attorney Mike Trippel works closely with the Council and the City Clerk's office and the City Attorney, Assistant City Attorneys and Staff Attorney. Council MeetingsAs the legislative body of the city, the Council is responsible for passing ordinances, resolutions, orders and motions for the governing of the city, the control of the city's property and finances, and the appropriation of money. These actions are taken at public meetings which are generally held on the first and third Mondays of the month in the Council Chambers in Mishawaka City Hall, 600 East Third Street. The public is welcome to attend the meetings and offer comment on these actions. Boards and CommissionsThe Council appoints its own members and members of the public to serve on various boards and commissions, which propose or make recommendations to the Council on policy.
