JUNE
SUMMER CONCERTS IN THE PARKS
The Parks Department hosts enjoyable evenings of musical entertainment at three locations:
• Battell Park Bandshell (Mondays)
• Beutter Park (Thursdays)
• Eberhart-Petro Golf Course (Fridays)

Admission to these concerts is free.  Click here for specific concert dates and mark your calendars now to attend!

SUMMERFEST XXVI
Summerfest @ Merrifield Park will be June 25-27, 2009. Come enjoy 3 days of family-oriented fun!

SEPTEMBER
PUNT, PASS, KICK COMPETITION
This annual competition will be held Saturday, September, 19, 2009, at Mishawaka High School. The competition is open to all children between the ages of 8 and 15. In 2008, Mishawaka hosted the PPK Regional Competitions for the second year in a row. See page 10 for detailed information and dates for 2009.

DECEMBER
LITTLE TIKES CHRISTMAS PARTY
This annual event takes place at Battell Community Center in the Community Room during a weekday in December. It is for children under the age of 5 and not in school. Children are treated to a visit from Santa, snack and craft activities. This event will be December 4, 2009.

WINTER FESTIVAL
Held at Merrifield Complex, the Winter Festival provides families an opportunity to come skate, eat or snack and get photos taken with Santa. This event will be December 5, 2009. 

FEBRUARY
DADDY/DAUGHTER DANCE
This popular event is for elementary and middle school girls accompanied by an adult male escort. A complimentary photo is provided. This event is tentatively scheduled for February 19 and 20, 2010.

MARCH
MOTHER/SON DANCE
Held at the Battell Community Center gymnasium on a Saturday in March, this event is for elementary school boys escorted by an adult female. A complimentary photo is provided. This event is tentatively scheduled for March 13, 2010.

APRIL
ARBOR DAY
Each year the Mishawaka Parks Department partners with School City of Mishawaka in choosing a representative school and park location to celebrate this holiday. Children will learn proper planting techniques and receive a tree courtesy of our own Electric Department. This event is tentatively scheduled for April 30, 2010.

MAY
PHR—PITCH, HIT & RUN™
Aquafina® Major League Baseball® PITCH, HIT & RUN™ is held at Rose Park in between Mid April and Mid May. This event is similar in fashion to PPK. Please see page 11 for more specific information on this new event.

BIKE DECORATING CONTEST
This annual event is typically held on the Saturday prior to Memorial Day at Battell Park, 300 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, IN. There are 3 categories which participants may register: Boy, Girl and Family. The winner of each category receives a special prize.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Participants from the Bike Decorating Contest are eligible to ride their themed, decorated bikes in the Parade. Memorial Day is Monday, May 31, 2010. Specific information on how and where to meet will be provided at the Bike Decorating Contest. Parents, please note that a waiver must be provided to us prior to the event in order for us to allow your child to ride in the Parade.
