Following more than a decade of planning and discussion with
St. Joseph County, the City of Mishawaka and the St. Joseph
County entered into an intergovernmental agreement in November
of 2004, for the design and construction of an underpass to
replace the at-grade crossing of Main Street and the Canadian
National Railroad. On November 23, 2004, the City selected
the design engineering firm of DLZ Indiana, LLC to prepare
construction plans for the project.
