Without the undergirding of the Police, Fire and Emergency Management
Services, a city is vulnerable and freedom is threatened. Mishawaka
is proud of the men and women who serve and protect our citizens
and visitors.
The Mishawaka Police Department is a full-service police agency,
providing police protection to a city of approximately 47,000 residents
and a land area of approximately 17 square miles. The department
has 103 officers in three divisions and 35 support personnel under
Chief Kenneth Witkowski.
The Fire Department provides an appropriate, safe and professional
response to fire, medical and environmental emergencies. Chief
Dale Freeman and his 108 member team are part of the great tradition
that has been serving the City since 1904.
In 2002, the Emergency Medical Services Division was merged into
the Mishawaka Fire Department. Division Chief, Dan Bilancio heads
the municipal based Advance Life Support provider service. Our service
was recognized by the State of Indiana as the 1988 Provider of the
Year. |
