12.  New Business

Appointment to Mishawaka School Board
Mr. Emmons nominated Dennis Wood, seconded by Kate Voelker. Motion carried. The term is for 4 years.

Mr. Emmons Neighborhood Meeting will be 11-21st at 7:00PM St. Bavo’s School. The speaker will be Michael Castellon, Penn Township Assessor and will talk about reassessment.

Mr. Emmons apologized for the construction downtown still being torn up within the city. Mayor Wood said the construction work should be done this winter.

John Roggeman thanked the Mishawaka Football League,3rd thru 6th grade, that played on Sunday afternoons for a job well done and commented on the good response they have.

Jim Schrader, General Manager of Utilities, said the public meetings for the electric rate increase will be the following;

  • 11-12th for 5th and 6th District 7:00PM at John Young School
  • 11-13th for 3rd and 4th District 7:00PM at Twin Branch School
  • 11-14th for 1st and 2nd District 7:00PM at St. Bavo’s School

Matt Mammolenti said his monthly meeting will be 11-13th at Twin Branch School talking about the electric rates. He said anyone that could not attend the other meetings were welcomed.

Matt also thanked the other school board applicants for their interest in the schools.

Mayor Wood said the ribbon cutting for the newest part of the River Walk, near Hospice, will be Saturday 11/23 @ 9:00am.
