Message from the Chief of Police

The Mishawaka Police Department recognizes that successful crime prevention depends on the community and the police department working together. With this in mind, the Mishawaka Police Department will strive to provide an open line of communication between citizens and police officers to take an active role in community programs and neighborhoods and to be a service-oriented police department.Through this partnership we will work together to identify, prioritize and solve problems of our community with the goal of improving the overall sense of safety and security within our fine community.

Keeping Mishawaka Safe

The Mishawaka Police Department is a full-service police agency, providing police protection to a city of 48,385 residents and a land area of approximately 17 square miles. The department has 103 officers in three divisions and 38 support personnel.

Mishawaka is a safe, clean city that is a wonderful place to raise a family and earn a living. The Mishawaka Police Department keeps our city safe by using every available successful technique to hire, train and equip its officers to help successfully implement our preventive and proactive approach to policing.
